Install ModelSim Intel FPGA edition for free (Windows 11/10)

Install ModelSim Intel FPGA edition (Lite) without license for free.

• First download the Lite verison from the link
• Select edition as “Lite” and
• Select release as “20.1.1” (latest as of recording this video)
• Then select “Individual Files” below and download “ModelSim-Intel FPGA Edition (includes Starter Edition”
• Follow the installation process.

How to call the vsim from command line or powershell

• Open terminal
• cd c:\intelFPGA\20.1\modelsim_ase\win32aloem
• Type “vsim”
• GUI verison of modelsim will open
